Triple Burner Meridian Exercises

 

Includes the upper burner, the middle burner and the lower burner. It contains the heart and lungs, the area between the diaphragm and the belly button and the lower portion of the torso, the kidneys, urinary bladder, small intestine, large intestine and the liver.

It has a name but is without a physical shape.

Responsible for:

  • Taking in air
  • Distributing nitrients and chi
  • Digesting food
  • Transorming food into nutrients
  • Eliminating waste

Regulation

Start with your feet shoulder width apart, arms resting naturally at your sides. Breathe in while bringing both arms up along the front of your body with the hands pointing toward each other. When your hands reach the level of the solar plexus rotate your hands til they are facing up.

Now exhale and vocalise "Xi" while extending your arms up above your head. Contract the muscle between testicles and anus and pull your stomach in.

When you've exhaled completely rotate your hands until they are facing in with your fingers pointing up. Lower them then in front of your body. When your hands pass the solar plexus point your fingers down and continue lowering them until they rest naturally at your sides.

Repeat six times.
